SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE INDIANS

A dramatic comedy, the plot follows a German scientist who, while seeking lost herbal remedies, travelsBest Friends Movie Poster back into history with two North American Indian Chiefs and their 'Sweatlodge Transporter'™. Co-Producers are being sought to produce this feature film staring Gordon Tootoosis ("North of 60", "Black Bear").

From the boardroom of Mercedes Benz pharmaceutical division in Europe, Dr. Mai's trail takes him to a reserve in the mountains of the North American West , where he is initiated into reservation life. Befriended by tribal elders, Bob Sam and Sam Bob, our hero is introduced to a ‘Sweat Lodge Transporter'™ that permits his botanical search to go backwards in time.

Aided by hot rocks, steam and chants from his new allies, Heintz is soon transported back to the Nature World of prehistory where, overwhelmed by beauty, he recognizes and gathers some of the missing herbs. Almost lost in the lush diversity of this garden, Heintz also encounters a coyote-like creature that connects him to Indian mythology and re-connects him with part of his own being. Awed and frightened, Heintz recalls the advice of his Indian elders and, ‘through smoke and mirrors', he scrambles back to the present. Seated around a campfire, Bob Sam and Sam Bob interpret Heintz's experiences for him and make preparations for another journey in the 'Sweat Lodge Transporter'™. Coached by the Elders, Heinz beguiles Coyote into believing that, together they can change history for the betterment of Indian people. These actions lead to near-disaster in each journey to follow.

In a subsequent series of missions to the past, Dr. Mai comes face to face with historical Gordon Tootoosis to Star in Moviefigures - from Christopher Columbus to General George Custer - and samples life in diverse environments - with Puritans in New England and with residential school children on the Great Plains. Along the way, Heintz continues to gather medicinal plants while encountering strong medicine. While an ever-deepening romantic dialogue with the Coyote Spirit forces Heintz to confront more and more aspects of his being, strange new circumstances find him passionately fighting for survival. Fraught with danger and deceit, each historical episode challenges Heintz's understanding of history and humanity. Each narrow escape back to the present brings more healing and more awareness.

In the story's triumphant conclusion, love and compassion overcome ignorance and greed. The lost medicinal herbs are recovered and passed on to the world's children while the 'Sweat Lodge Transporter'™ takes some of today's villains back to the beginning for another chance.

Appealing to young and old audiences alike, "Some of my Best Friends are Indians" is a farce in the classical sense, providing an exaggerated laugh at our culture while offering new possibilities for all the world's children.
