Some of My Best Friends Are Indians, page 64
HEINTZ AS SIOUX INDIAN WARRIOR (CONT'D)
(whispering to himself)
That's him! Old Yellow Hair! It's
got to be. I must do it.
(pulls knife out of
sheath)
Save the lives of 250 soldiers and
some of my brothers. I'll give the
scalp to Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse.
Convince them to back off. The
soldiers won't fight unless this
fruitcake makes them. Then my brothers
won't have flee to Canada like the
Vietnam draft dodger guys.
Heintz crawls to the tent carrying his knife between his
teeth. Suddenly the shadow of another figure with long hair
is SEEN etched against the tent wall. The two figures
struggle. We SEE an arm of one figure strike the other figure
on the head. A dull thump is HEARD. The figures of two
sentries rush into the tent.
SENTRY'S VOICE
General Custer are you alright? We
heard a commotion.
TOBY AS GENERAL CUSTER
Some redskin tryin' to make a name
for himself. I thumped him good. He
won't be comin' again. Better check
out back and post two more guards.
And sergeant, tell Benteen and Reno
I want to pow wow with Sitting Bull
and Crazy Horse. If they're
unreasonable, I'll just cut 'em down.
Let's give the silly bastards an
opportunity to surrender. Let no one
say General Armstrong Custer was not
a fair man.
Two sentries walk toward Heintz. Heintz bolts for his horse
and the sentries shoot at him as he leaps onto his horse and
rides away.
